Display settings

Display settings

There are multiple settings you can configure to make your time on a computer more comfortable. From screen resolution to the color of the screen to your eye's comfort. We will explore some of those options right away.

-How do I get there? Right click on the desktop > Display.

OR Click start > Settings > System > Display

Screen resolution

Is the amount of pixels in a screen, the more pixels the better picture quality. When you go to the store and see 4K TVs, notice how good the video looks, is because of the amount of pixels on a 4K screen. Depending on the monitor you have, the resolution can be changed to a resolution supported by that monitor. Here is how you do it. Note that if there are multiple monitors, you must select the one you want to change the resolution (it doesn't change them all at once). You can also change the orientation of the screen (see below the resolution options), change the orientation if you are going to physically position a monitor in a vertical position.

Text size

Windows give you the option to increase the size of the text, it also increases the size of the task bar, icons and windows.

Multiple displays

If you have more than one monitor, the are a few options to make the most of them.

  1. Extend desktop: this give you the ability to drag different windows to whatever monitor you choose
  2. Duplicate desktop: as the name says is, it will display the same thing on all monitors.

Night light

Very interesting feature which allows you to change the color temperature when using the computer at night. Its purpose is to reduce the negative effect a screen has in our eyes at night. You can manually set it at any time or schedule it.
